đź”’ Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2025
At Notify On Change, we take privacy seriously — both yours and the internet’s.
Our mission is simple: to help you stay aware of what’s changing online, without becoming part of the surveillance economy.
This document explains what we collect, how we use it, and what we deliberately avoid knowing about you.
🧠1. What We Do (and Don’t) Track
We monitor webpages, not people.
When you use our Chrome extension or server-side service, we track only the web pages you ask us to watch — and the differences that occur on those pages.
We do not:
- Spy on your browsing habits.
- Sell your data.
- Inject ads or trackers.
- Read your private tabs or unrelated pages.
We do:
- Store URLs you choose to monitor.
- Log when a change occurs.
- Save a minimal copy of changed content (for comparison and diff visualization).
Everything else stays on your side of the screen.
đź’ľ 2. Data We Collect
Depending on your usage level, we collect the following information:
For Chrome Extension Users (Free):
- URLs you monitor (locally stored).
- Basic technical info (extension version, browser type).
- Optional: your email address (only if you create an account for syncing).
For Premium / Server-Side Users:
- URLs monitored via our servers.
- Change logs (text-based, never full-page archives).
- Account info (name, email, billing ID).
- Payment data (handled securely by our payment processor — we never store your card).
We retain only the minimum data required to deliver your monitoring service reliably.
🧰 3. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used solely to:
- Detect, record, and notify you of webpage changes.
- Improve service performance and uptime.
- Handle billing and support requests.
We may occasionally anonymize usage stats (like “number of pages monitored” or “average check frequency”) to understand performance — but never in a way that can identify you.
🕵️‍♂️ 4. What We Don’t Do
We don’t run ads.
We don’t sell lists.
We don’t “share with trusted partners” (because that’s usually code for selling).
We’re in the business of tracking websites, not users.
🌍 5. Cookies & Analytics
We use minimal cookies, and only for:
- Session authentication (keeping you logged in).
- Saving preferences like dark mode or notification settings.
No invasive tracking cookies.
No third-party analytics scripts that follow you around the internet.
If we ever test features, we’ll use anonymized metrics hosted by us — not Google.
📤 6. Data Retention & Deletion
You control your data.
You can delete your account (and all monitored URLs) anytime from your dashboard.
When you do, we delete your stored URLs, change logs, and user data within 7 days.
Backups containing anonymized fragments are automatically purged within 30 days.
đź’ł 7. Payments
Payments are processed by trusted providers (like Stripe or Paddle).
We never store your payment card details — only a transaction ID for reference.
All billing data is handled securely, encrypted, and compliant with PCI standards.
🛡️ 8. Security
We use HTTPS everywhere, encrypt stored credentials, and limit access to operational data on a strict need-to-know basis.
We also encourage good password hygiene — though we secretly wish browsers would just do that for everyone.
✉️ 9. Contact
Questions, concerns, or existential dread about your data?
We’re happy to clarify.

⚖️ 10. Legal Bits
By using Notify On Change, you agree to this policy.
If we make material updates, we’ll notify users via email or in-app notice.
We’re based (technically) on the internet, but we comply with applicable laws like GDPR and CCPA.
🧠In Short
We watch the web so you don’t have to —
but we never watch you.
Your data is yours.
Your awareness is ours to assist.
Notify On Change — privacy, without the irony.
